Where to Watch New Year’s Eve Fireworks in Chicago for 2016/2017

Posted on: December 27th, 2016 by Pontarelli Chicago Limousine Service No Comments

Next to New York City and Los Angeles, Chicago remains the third largest metropolis in the country and a popular destination for celebrating New Year’s Eve and the New Year. People from far and wide venture to the “Windy City” for the event. The city hosts fantastic festivities that include fireworks displays.

Navy Pier

Once part of a military installation, Navy Pier is now widely known for a wide variety of entertainment venues. On New Year’s Eve, the location hosts a spectacular celebration that includes an amazing pyrotechnic presentation. Visitors have the choice of three different locations throughout the area to get the best views. Venture to the Ferris wheel after spending earlier hours taking in the fun. Perhaps join thousands for a black-tie affair in the Resolution Gala ballroom. The Crystal Gardens mezzanine offers a slightly less formal atmosphere. Visit each venue’s website for more information.

Anita Dee I

The luxury yacht docks on the north side of the pier. The festivities aboard the vessel on New Year’s Eve appeal to younger crowds who enjoy the latest dance beats and the open bar. The yacht leaves the pier at 10:00 P.M. and offers great views of the ensuing fireworks. The party continues until 1:00 A.M. when the vessel returns to Navy Pier.

Odyssey

The Odyssey is considered one of the largest and luxurious vessels, which docks on the south side of the pier. New Year’s Eve packages aboard the yacht include a dinner, alcoholic beverages, champagne toasts and live music. The ship offers a prime view of the city skyline and the fireworks. Guests board at 8:30 P.M. to cruise along Lake Michigan. The vessel returns to Navy Pier and the party continues dockside until 1:00 A.M.

Shoreline Sightseeing Cruises

The cruise line company vessel is ideal for anyone looking for a unique but less expensive means of viewing the festivities from the waterfront. The ship docks at Navy Pier before sailing out to Lake Michigan. The vessel leaves at 11:30 P.M. for a 45 minute cruise. The excursion is appropriate for guests of all ages.

Signature Room And Lounge

The restaurant is located on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center. The venue’s floor-to-ceiling windows provide the perfect view for watching the fireworks display over Navy Pier while avoiding the cold weather. The Signature Room offers New Year’s Eve packages that include a six-course dinner and drinks. If not interested in dining, you might prefer going to the celebration in the Signature Lounge on the 96th floor. The lounge also has floor-to-ceiling windows, which offer picturesque views. There is a cover charge that includes one drink. As the venue quickly becomes crowded, guests are encouraged to arrive before 10:00 P.M.
